STANDARD LIGHTBOX

This standard battery lightbox, or table centrepiece lightbox has become the industry benchmark for battery table décor lights and now enters its 9th year in the hire market.

It is used as a table uplighter, casting light into the vase or object placed over the light source. Equipped with the new super bright focussed LED's there is no shortage of brightness and this has now allowed for these units to be gelled to any colour required to enhance the hue's of your event and let them follow through onto each table. Often imitated but never has it been duplicated, others have come and gone … so make sure you make the correct choice that burns for the duration of your event!!

COLOUR SCROLL LIGHTBOX

This colour changing battery LED lightbox, or table battery light has various built in settings that allow it to be "programmed" for each specific function. It utilises Luxeon LED technology and collimator mixing lenses from Europe and not the cheap 5mm led clusters like most other rivals, making it a fantastic event effect.

LINEAR LIGHTBOX

Suitable for rectangular tables where décor space is limited this linear battery lightbox solves many problems. It comes with two LED uplights on either end. The centre connector is terminated in a 12 volt outlet for a table lamp or for 12 volt fairly lights but a third LED uplight can also be added into this as an option.

LIGHTBOX COMBO

MIRROR DISC

This simple circular mirror can be placed on a lightbox with a 12 volt outlet. It has LED's mounted on the underside and will illuminate the table cloth in a colour of your choice, allowing for the chosen theme colours from your event to enhance the table lighting.

WIRELESS CONTROLLED LED TABLE LIGHT OR "POD"

A brand new product for 2012!! This wireless controlled led centrepiece unit allows for the venue and stage lighting to extend its control right onto the dining tables themselves, giving the lighting designer another element of control making the guests feel part of the show. As the stage lights change colour so can the table lights change or strobe when an award is presented. This high bright LED cluster POD can be remotely controlled and programmed with a handheld controller or controlled direct from the lighting desk that is controlling the venue and stage lighting. It uses wireless DMX protocol and each unit can have its own address allowing for individual table control and rainbow scrolls across multiple tables. Using lithium polymer battery technology this wireless controlled lightbox will outlast the longest events.

SWAN ARM

The curvaceous aluminium Swan Arm table lamp is used as a table down lighter or as an alternative to table "pin spotting". It can be a huge money saver in venues where exorbitant fees are charged for trussing and rigging of pinspots. In marquees where table lights or table pin spots are subject to movement of the structure due to wind these battery table lamps are a real winner.

TABLE LAMPS

The battery powered table lamps make great illuminated table centrepieces for weddings and functions. Alternatively they are often placed in the "chill out" lounge area's of corporate events and larger weddings. These illuminated centrepieces have been recently upgraded to utilise a custom built LED lamp that fits directly into the bayonet receptacle. This has increased the burn time of all SMD's table lamps to over 12 hours, never leaving your guests in the dark.

AMBIANT LIGHTBOX

The table ambient lightbox or table illuminated lightbox has also undergone a recent upgrade and the energy saver bulbs have been replaced with over 72 cold white LED's per unit. Utilised at the recent World Economic Forum Dinner at the Cape Town Stadium these battery powered LED units fitted the criteria of renewable energy perfectly.

BOLLARDS

The battery bollard lights or battery pathway lights have become an event saver on numerous occasions. Especially useful in venues where no open flames are allowed due to dry grass, or where open flames are simply extinguished by the wind like at Oudekraal, these wireless pathway lights can be placed up to 10m apart and will light any pathway, be it on top of Table Mountain or simply to the car park in a remote country or winelands estate, these units are champions.

ILLUMINATED BALLS & SPHERE'S

Launched at the end of last season, these illuminated balls or battery LED light balls have become ever popular as décor items for evening events. Often used randomly on grass or in linear form down a red carpet the illuminated sphere's can be set to one of seven colours - red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow and white. The burn time will range from 16 hours down to 7 hours with white using the most power. Available in 400mm and 550mm with 300mm to be added by October.

ILLUMINATED COLUMNS OR PLINTHS

These illuminated columns or light plinths are manufactured from perspex and have a central steel column that can support a large amount of weight. The battery and electronics are housed in the small white box on the lower end.

COCKTAIL TABLE LED LIGHTS

Finally we have a real answer to lighting cocktail tables. SMD now offers a product that can light the underside of a cocktail table evenly. A battery LED cocktail table light is attached to the centre stem of the cocktail table and distributes an even light down the height of the cocktail table. The unit can be set to one of seven colours - red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow and white. The burn time will range from 12 hours down to 5 hours with white using the most power and lasting only 5 hours.

RECESSED LED LIGHTING

This is usually only associated with fixed installations, but now SMD is offering this on a hire basis for events and functions. As décor companies evolve there is a growing demand for these LED effects as was seen at the World Economic Forum dinner at the Cape Town Stadium. These affects are usually battery powered so eliminate cabling between furniture and coffee tables. Staging effects are usually too large for battery installations and these are powered with switch mode supplies.
